river boat service

The river Thames meanders through the heart of London linking the five Hubs of LFA2008. The LFA riverboat service will provide transport from Hub to Hub, accompanied by a narrative from author Peter Ackroyd.

RIBA London will be co-ordinating the LFA2008 riverboat service in association with Thames Clippers to connect all five Festival Hubs, providing an alternative perspective of the capital.

Peter Ackroyd, author of Thames: Sacred River and Honorary President of the London Festival of Architecture, will co-curate the RIBA London Thames exhibition Dark Water, which will inhabit six piers along the river and explores the life and history of the Thames.

The LFA2008 River Boat service will run at 20-minute intervals, stopping at piers between Royal Arsenal Woolwich and Waterloo, and between Bankside and Millbank. See the Thames Clippers website for full service details www.thamesclippers.com.

Festival-goers receive a 30% discount on ticket fares when using the special RIBA London Dark Waters discount voucher downloadable from: www.darkwaters.org.uk or www.architecture.com/ribalondon.

One-day (£5.30), three-day (£16.00) and one-month passes (£160) are available to purchase in advance from Thames Clippers and discounted one day passes will also be available to purchase onboard with the Dark Waters voucher during the Festival (20 June- 20 July).

These passes are valid on any Thames Clipper service - Monday to Friday between 10am and 5pm and all day at the weekends.

To purchase your pass please email Alison Murphy with the subject line 'LFA Boat Service'.
