3 July - 31 July Collyer Bristow Gallery
Collyer Bristow LLP 4 Bedford Row London, WC1R 4DF

Collyer Bristow Gallery presents an exhibition of work that considers the crossovers between fine art practice and architectural/urban concerns, exemplifying the thought processes of both practices whilst recognising the blurring of these boundaries, both perceived and actual. Works that consider the presence of the human, inhabiting imagined and real space are to be shown alongside pieces where form plays a conceptual role: where the human is absent. This fascinating interplay places art and architecture at the centre of the question of human relevance.
5th July Special Saturday opening, 12-5pm
The exhibition includes work by Bohn&Viljoen Architects, Cleo Broda, Gayle Chong Kwan, Suki Chan, Ben Cove, Paul Eachus, Karen Henderson, Ingrid Hora, Camilla Lyons, Matthias Megyeri and Stefan Saffer.
Works range from photoworks and photographs by Paul Eachus, Suki Chan and Gayle Chong Kwan that capture moments of stasis in an otherwise collapsing system to sculpture, furniture and kinetic works by Ben Cove, Ingrid Hora and Camiila Lyons. Video pieces showing alongside drawings by Bohn and Viljoen Architects, Karen Henderson , Camilla Lyons and Cleo Broda consider how individuals adpat and modify architecture in the public and private domain. Two dimensional wall pieces by Stefan Saffer re-articluate space , reflecting certain architectural concerns of structure, line, density, yet dissolving this idea to reveal a far more fragile existence.
In all of these works the human presence is felt through our need to build, construct and create our world. There is an eternal optimism present throughout the show - our ability to reconstruct and fabricate the world around us highlights our adaptability and our recognition that failure can lead to new beginnings.
