Metropolitan Workshop and Charlie Whinney Associates have collaborated on an installation displayed in the Metropolitan Workshop Office Window in Cowcross Street. The piece of work is designed and constructed using Charlie’s unique medium of steamed timber and explores themes relating to the environment.

Charlie Whinney, a founding member of Sixixis, creates unique and exciting eco-friendly pieces of product design and sculpture using local unseasoned timber. He uses his own innovative steam bending equipment and techniques to create dynamic pieces of work out of solid hardwoods such as Oak and Ash.

Metropolitan Workshop is a new Architecture and Urbanism Practice of 30 Staff. Their collaborative working process in the UK, Norway, Ireland and Jordan have delivered creative thinking to new and existing urban environments at all scales.
